Terms of service
The agreement between the product owner and account holders.
Effective 15 Sep 2026 · Updated 29 Sep 2026 · Temperate
This is a layout with placeholders for the owner's actual terms. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed.
Accounts
You are responsible for the credentials of your account, for the devices you sign in, and for activity in workspaces and organizations you own.
The local agent
The temperate command-line tool, daemon, hook, guarded shell, built-in policies and incident corpus are licensed separately under the Functional Source License (FSL-1.1-ALv2), which converts to the Apache License 2.0 two years after each release. These terms cover the hosted service: accounts, the dashboard, synced data and hosted AI answers.
What Temperate does not promise
Temperate reduces the risk of destructive agent actions and makes most changes reversible, but it cannot guarantee that every harmful command is caught or that every change can be undone. Effects outside your filesystem, such as a force-push, a dropped database or a deployment, cannot be reversed by restoring files. Keep your own backups, and review what you approve.
Acceptable use
Use of the service is subject to the acceptable-use policy.
Availability
The service is provided as is. The owner may publish maintenance windows on an external status page linked from the footer once one is configured.
Changes
The owner may update these terms; material changes are announced in the changelog or by email.
